The Ombudsman of Ontario is an officer of the Provincial Legislative Assembly independent from government and political parties. The office investigates complaints about services provided by the Government of Ontario and its organizations, including municipal closed meetings, school boards, municipalities, and universities. The Ombudsman also conducts systemic investigations on important issues about government services, which can affect large numbers of people. The Ombudsman is an office of last resort.
