Program covers most of the cost of 3,800 prescription drug products, some nutrition products and some diabetic testing agents.

Eligibility

If you belong to one of the following groups of Ontario residents and you have a valid Ontario health card (OHIP), you are eligible for drug coverage under the ODB Program: * people 65 years of age and older * people who receive financial help through Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program * residents of Homes for Special Care and Long-term Care Homes * people receiving professional home care services * registrants in the Trillium Drug Program You may qualify for the Trillium Drug Program if: * you are an Ontario resident and have a valid Ontario health card AND you are not covered under ODB as: * a senior over 65 years of age * someone who receives financial help through Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program * a resident of a Long-Term Care home or Home for Special Care or someone who receives Home Care Services OR * you don't have private health insurance or your private insurance does not cover 100% of your prescription drug costs

Application

* seniors are automatically enrolled in the Ontario Drug Benefit program * low income seniors may fill in a co-payment form or they may call the Seniors Co-payment line to have a form mailed out to them Trillium Drug Program * you must apply for the Trillium Drug Program * applications and guides are available at local pharmacies, or by calling 1-800-575-5386 (toll free) * download the application and guide
